A Safe birth for every mother

Mamacare brings qualified health workers, prenatal monitoring, and emergency support directly into the rural communities Babban Gona serves — because no mother should face childbirth alone.

Too many mothers deliver

Too many mothers deliver without care.

Nigeria accounts for roughly 25% of all maternal deaths worldwide — and the burden falls hardest on women in rural Northern Nigeria, where life-saving antenatal care is out of reach and the nearest hospital can be a journey most families cannot make. For the women in the communities Babban Gona serves — smallholder farming households across rural northern Nigeria — pregnancy carries risks that should not exist. Distance, cost, and a shortage of trained care mean that too many mothers still deliver alone, without the screening, support, or skilled hands that could save their lives. MamaCare was built to change that.

Life saving care for rural women

Mamacare doesn't just show up for the birth. We're present through every stage of pregnancy, delivery, and early infancy — because a healthy start is a lifelong gift.

How Mama Care Works

Member Enrolment

Program members join a BGMTF Trust Group register within the Mamacare programme. A community health worker visits their home to assess their needs and begin their care record.

Prenatal Monitoring

Monthly check-ups track the health of mother and baby. Any concerns are escalated immediately. Nutritional guidance is provided at every visit.

Birth Support

A trained birth attendant is called when labour begins. They arrive within the community and provide added support throughout delivery, or facilitate an emergency referral if needed.

Postnatal Care

After delivery, both mother and baby receive follow-up visits. Any complications are identified and treated early.
